Your logo, as an animated server icon
How do I make an animated Discord server icon?
Upload your logo to LogoAnimator, pick a centred motion, and export a ~512×512 looping GIF for the round server icon Discord shows in the sidebar. Upload it under Server Settings, where animated icons need Server Boost Level 1. The GIF is a Pro ($5/month) export, watermark-free with a commercial-use license.
A boosted Discord server can wear an animated icon — the round mark at the top of the channel list and the server header. LogoAnimator turns your logo into a ~512×512 looping GIF built for exactly that spot.

How it works
- 01
Upload your logo
Drop in a PNG or SVG. LogoAnimator samples it into a dot-matrix model right in the browser.
- 02
Pick a motion
Simple, centred loops read best at icon size — a breathe, ring reveal, or pop stays legible when Discord shrinks it into the sidebar.
- 03
Export the GIF
Use the Pro GIF export at ~512×512 — Discord's recommended server-icon size — then upload it under Server Settings → Server Profile (animated icons need Server Boost Level 1).
Animated Discord logo & server icon requirements
- Format: GIF. An animated server icon must be a GIF; a PNG or JPG uploads as a static icon.
- Size: square, at least 512×512. Discord recommends 512×512 or larger and crops the icon to a circle, so keep your logo centred with a little breathing room.
- Server Boost Level 1. Animated icons are a Level 1 perk, which takes 2 Server Boosts. Below Level 1, the server can only use a static icon.
- Permission. You need the Manage Server permission to change the icon: Server Settings → Server Profile → change the server icon, then save.
Free vs Pro
Animated GIF export is a Pro feature: a clean, looping icon at the size Discord wants, with no watermark. The SVG-based presets — README embeds, spinners, and favicons — stay free with a watermark.
